5-Day Kenya Safari– Amboseli, Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara

Day 1 – Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

You’ll be picked up early in the morning from Nairobi Airport or your hotel. After a short briefing by one of our team members, the trip begins, taking you through the central highlands, past tea-growing regions, and down to the floor of the Great Rift Valley. There will be a brief stop at a scenic viewpoint for photographs, with Mount Longonot visible in the distance. Continue your journey to Masai Mara, arriving in time for check-in and lunch at your selected lodge or tented camp. In the afternoon, you’ll head out for a wildlife viewing session, returning to your camp or lodge by evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you’ll spend the day exploring the wide grasslands of Masai Mara with a packed lunch. The area supports a high concentration of animals and is suitable for visits throughout the year. Wildlife commonly seen includes lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, antelopes, baboons, and various birds. It’s often possible to spot several of the Big Five within just a few hours. Between July and October, the area draws large groups of wildebeest, zebras, and other grazers during their seasonal movement. A visit to a nearby Masai village is available at a small additional cost and offers insight into local customs and ways of living. In the evening, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. There is also an option to book a balloon ride with a bush breakfast for an extra fee, followed by another full-day outing.

Day 3 – Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, check out and depart Masai Mara, heading toward Lake Nakuru National Park, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley. You’ll arrive in time for lunch and check-in at your lodge or tented camp. Lake Nakuru is home to both lesser and greater flamingos, as well as a variety of wildlife. The park is also known for its bird population, with over 400 species recorded within its 188 square kilometers. In the afternoon, you’ll go on a wildlife drive through the park. If conditions are favorable, you may spot lions, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos, four of the Big Five, among other animals.

Day 4 – Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast and check-out, your journey continues to Amboseli National Park. The route takes you through several smaller towns and rural communities. Arrival at the park will be in time for check-in and lunch. Amboseli is widely known for its large elephant herds and the view of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Later in the afternoon, you’ll go on a wildlife drive before heading back to your camp or lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5 – Amboseli to Nairobi

After breakfast, you’ll check out and begin the return trip to Nairobi, with a few stops along the way. Arrival in the city is expected in the afternoon. Lunch will be at your own arrangement before you are transferred to your hotel or to the airport for your outgoing international flight.
