12 Days Safari in Kenya

Day 1 – Nairobi to Masai Mara

You’ll be collected early in the morning from Nairobi Airport or your hotel. After a briefing by one of our team members, your trip begins, taking you through the central highlands and past tea plantations before descending into the Great Rift Valley. A short break will be made at a viewpoint for photos, with visibility of features such as Mount Longonot. You’ll then continue on and arrive at your camp or lodge in Masai Mara in time for check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll head out for wildlife viewing before returning to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and the night.

Day 2 – Masai Mara

After breakfast, you’ll spend the day exploring the wide grassland plains of Masai Mara with a packed lunch. This area supports a dense population of wildlife and is known for its high numbers of animals. You’ll have the opportunity to observe lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, antelopes, baboons, and a range of bird species. It’s sometimes possible to see four of the ‘Big Five’ within a few hours. Between July and October, the region is the setting for the seasonal movement of wildebeest, zebras, and other grazers. You may choose to visit a nearby Masai village for a small additional fee to learn about local traditions. Dinner and overnight stay will be back at your tented camp. Optionally, you can book a balloon ride with a bush breakfast, followed by wildlife viewing throughout the day.

Day 3 – Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru

Following breakfast, you’ll leave Masai Mara and head toward Lake Nakuru National Park, situated at the base of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge or camp and have lunch. Lake Nakuru is widely recognized for attracting both lesser and greater flamingos, along with various animal species. With over 400 kinds of birds found within its 188 square kilometer area, the park is particularly rich in birdlife. In the afternoon, you’ll set out for a drive through the park where, with good luck, you could come across lions, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos, four of the Big Five, among other species.

Day 4 – Lake Nakuru to Amboseli

After breakfast and check-out, you’ll travel to Amboseli National Park, passing through a number of smaller towns and rural settlements. You’ll reach Amboseli in time to check in and have lunch. This national park is widely known for its large elephant herds and clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Later, you’ll head out for more wildlife viewing and return in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5 – Amboseli

Begin your day with an early morning game drive. Mid-morning, you’ll go back to your accommodation for breakfast, then enjoy some free time before lunch. Later in the afternoon, you’ll head out again in search of wildlife, returning by evening. If you’re fortunate, you may come across lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and many species of birds. Alternatively, you can choose to go on a full-day excursion with a packed lunch.

Day 6 – Amboseli to Tsavo West

After breakfast, you’ll check out and proceed to Tsavo West National Park. The area features open savannah and a wide variety of animals, including elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. Once you arrive at your lodge or camp, you’ll check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll head out for another round of wildlife viewing before returning in the evening for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 7 – Tsavo West to Tsavo East

After breakfast and check-out, your trip continues with a stop at Mzima Springs, where you can walk around and view the fresh water source hidden in a dry region. From there, you’ll move on to Tsavo East, arriving in time for lunch and check-in. Later in the day, another wildlife viewing session is planned before returning to your lodge or camp for the evening.

Day 8 – Tsavo East to Mombasa/Diani/Watamu

After breakfast and check-out, you’ll set off for the Kenyan coast, with a final game drive on your way out of Tsavo East. On arrival at your beachside hotel or resort in Mombasa, Diani, or Watamu, you’ll check in and spend the rest of the day unwinding by the sea.

Days 9 – 11: Mombasa/Diani/Watamu

Begin each day with breakfast followed by leisure time at your beach resort. These days are yours to relax and enjoy the coast, with options for additional activities such as local excursions, skydiving, sailing on traditional boats, diving, snorkeling, or visiting nearby marine parks. These are offered at an extra fee.

Day 12 – Mombasa/Diani/Watamu to Nairobi

After breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Nairobi. You’ll arrange your own lunch before continuing to the international airport for your flight home.
