4-Day Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara Safari

Day 1 – Nairobi to Lake Nakuru

You’ll be picked up early in the morning from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi. After a short introduction from one of our representatives, your trip begins. The route takes you through the central highlands, passing tea plantations, and then descends into the Great Rift Valley. A brief stop will be made at a viewpoint where you can enjoy panoramic views and take photos of the valley and features like Mount Longonot. You’ll proceed with the journey and arrive at Lake Nakuru in time to check in and have lunch. This national park is known for its large numbers of lesser and greater flamingos, along with a wide variety of other wildlife. It also supports over 400 species of birds within its 188 square kilometers. In the afternoon, you’ll head out for a wildlife viewing drive, with the chance to spot lions, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos, four of the Big Five, along with other animals.

Day 2 – Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, you’ll check out and depart for Masai Mara. Along the way, there will be an en route game drive. You’ll arrive at Masai Mara in good time to check in and have lunch at your camp or lodge. Later in the afternoon, you’ll set off for wildlife viewing, continuing until evening. Return to the lodge or camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3 – Masai Mara

After breakfast, you’ll head out for a full-day wildlife drive across the expansive grasslands of Masai Mara with a packed lunch. The area supports a large number of wild animals, including lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, antelopes, baboons, and many bird species. On some days, it’s possible to spot four of the Big Five in just a few hours. Between July and October, Masai Mara hosts the seasonal movement of wildebeest, zebras, and other grazers. A stop at a nearby Masai village can be arranged at a small additional fee, offering a closer look at the daily lives and customs of the local community. In the evening, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. If you choose, a hot air balloon ride with a bush breakfast can be arranged at an added cost, followed by a full-day wildlife drive.

Day 4 – Masai Mara to Nairobi

Begin the day with an early morning game drive. You’ll return to your camp or lodge by mid-morning for breakfast and to check out. From there, you’ll begin your return trip to Nairobi, making brief stops along the way. Arrival in the city is expected in the afternoon. Lunch will be at your own arrangement before your transfer to the airport for your international departure.
